Warranty
Every unit we sell carries a warranty from the manufacturer that built it. Chilled Wineworks is an authorized dealer, so your coverage is full factory warranty, not a third-party or reseller plan, honored directly by the brand.
We are your first point of contact. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will open the claim and stay with it. You do not have to navigate a manufacturer's service network on your own.
Coverage by Brand
Terms are set by each manufacturer and vary between them. The warranty for your specific unit is stated on its product page and in the documentation packed with the appliance.
| Brand | Parts & Labor | Sealed System / Compressor | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Allavino | 1 year | 5 years, parts only | Years 2–5 cover the replacement compressor itself; service labor and freight are the owner's responsibility. Rental or commercial use reduces coverage to 90 days. |
| KingsBottle | 2 years from delivery | Included in parts & labor | Residential use only. Original purchaser or gift recipient; not transferable. Refurbished units excluded. |
| Empava | Confirm with us | Confirm with us | Coverage varies by model and channel. Ask before ordering and we will confirm the term for your unit in writing. |
| Transtherm | Confirm with us | Confirm with us | Confirm with us |
Coverage applies to residential use within the continental United States by the original purchaser. Manufacturers revise terms from time to time; the warranty packed with your unit governs.
What Is Not Covered
These are the exclusions that come up most often. A few minutes here is worth it:
- Inadequate ventilation. This is the single most common reason a wine refrigerator claim is denied. Every unit has a required clearance and airflow specification — front-venting models still need it, and a built-in unit installed in a sealed or undersized cabinet opening will run hot, fail early, and fail outside of warranty. Check the clearance spec on the product page before the cabinetry is cut. If you are unsure, ask us first.
- Freight and shipping damage. This is a carrier claim, not a warranty claim, and it has a hard documentation deadline at the time of delivery. See our Shipping policy.
- Improper installation, including incorrect leveling, unsupported weight, or installation contrary to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Electrical supply problems — power surges, low voltage, inadequate wiring, extension cords, or a circuit that does not meet the unit's specification.
- Commercial or rental use. Most manufacturers in this category sharply reduce or void residential coverage when a unit is used commercially.
- Wear and cosmetic items — light bulbs and housings, door springs and frames, inner door panels, rails and supports, plastic cabinet liners.
- Unauthorized repair or modification. Service by anyone other than a manufacturer-authorized technician voids coverage. A punctured evaporator voids the sealed system warranty entirely.
- Service calls that are not defects — product education, door reversal, or correcting an installation. Remote-area mileage, after-hours, weekend, and holiday surcharges are also excluded.
- Loss of contents. Manufacturers exclude spoilage of wine or other contents resulting from a unit failure, and so does Chilled Wineworks. Incidental and consequential damages are not covered.
- Units outside the continental United States, or resold to a second owner where the manufacturer's terms do not transfer.
Protecting Your Coverage
- Inspect and document at delivery. Warranty does not cover freight damage, and a clean signature on the Bill of Lading closes your ability to claim it. See our Shipping policy.
- Follow the clearance and ventilation specification. See the note above — this is where most denied claims come from, and it is entirely preventable.
- Register your unit with the manufacturer if they offer registration. It speeds up service and with some brands is a condition of coverage.
- Keep your receipt. Proof of purchase from an authorized dealer is required for any claim. Your Chilled Wineworks order confirmation is sufficient.
Filing a Claim
- Email support@chilledwineworks.com or call 1-888-493-8889. Include your order number, the model, the serial number from the unit's data plate, and a description of the problem.
- Photos or a short video help. If the unit is not holding temperature, tell us the set point, the actual reading, and the ambient room temperature — manufacturers ask for this first, every time.
- We open the claim with the manufacturer and coordinate authorized service, a parts shipment, or a replacement, depending on the fault and their determination.
You are also free to contact the manufacturer directly. Either way, let us know — we track claims across our vendors and it helps us push when one stalls.
Extended Coverage
Extended plans are available on some brands and not others, and the rules differ. KingsBottle sells 3-year and 5-year extensions, but only on units purchased directly from them, coverage beyond the standard two years is not available on units bought through a retailer. If you want coverage past the factory term, ask us before or shortly after purchase and we will tell you honestly what is and is not available for your model. Enrollment windows are short.
Questions
Email support@chilledwineworks.com or call 1-888-493-8889. If you are planning a built-in installation and want to confirm clearances before the cabinetry goes in, that is a conversation worth having, it prevents the most expensive kind of warranty problem, which is the kind that isn't covered.
